Sunshine Reeds is dedicated to crafting reeds with a lush tone that meet the highest standards of pitch stability without sacrificing flexibility, projection, and comfort.
Our English Horn reeds are made using a David Matthews shaper tip, and Glotin brass staples with no collar. Cane varies by season. Particular emphasis is placed on a large opening that will allow the sound to cut through the orchestra while still achieving effortless pianissimo response.
